Which journal to publish GPU Papers in?
One of my academic colleagues, Fumie Costen, recently asked members of The University of Manchester GPU Club the following question
‘I am looking for a journal with high impact factor where I can publish our work on GPU for FDTD computations. Can anyone help?’
So far, we haven’t had any replies so I’m throwing the question open to the world. Any suggestions?
I would decide by topic not by the hardware which is used. If the article is about promoting your framework, I would maybe go with J. Comp. Phys. or a SIAM Journal.
Try Nature or Science.
The journal of progress in electromagnetics, JPIER.org, has decent stats IF and Eigenfactor, and I’ve seen several GPU papers there. However, as far as I can tell jpier isn’t as highly regarded as other journals with similar or lower stats. If you do find a good place, I’d be very interested to learn about it. I’m in a similar situation right now.
I believe the challenge with this kind of paper is that it bridges both computer science and electrical engineering and the electrical engineering community emphasizes publishing in journals, but in computer science there is an emphasis only on conferences.
Also IEEE Computing in Science and Engineering may be your case, there is a special section devoted to novel architectures and is more suited to a general broader audience within computational science interests.
Could you please tell me if solving system of partial differential equations is possible by using GPU in Matlab or Mathematica? I want to do some simulations which at the least have 4 million differential equations.
