Last year, I was invited to participate in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkingrandomly.com\/?p=6229\">Reproducible research in Ecology<\/a>\u00a0workshop which was part of the 2016\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.isbe2016.com\/\">International Society of Behavioural Ecology Conference<\/a>. My contributions included a talk (<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mikecroucher\/MLPM_talk\">your research software correct?<\/a>) and a <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mikecroucher\/ISBE_Symposium\">workshop on using projects and version control using R and RStudio<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The latest output from this stream of work is a paper in Behavioral Ecology called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1093\/beheco\/arx003\">Striving for transparent and credible research: practical guidelines for behavioral ecologists<\/a>\u00a0which discusses various topics including preregistration, open science and, of course, research software practices with shout-outs to initiatives such as <a href=\"https:\/\/software-carpentry.org\/\">Software Carpentry<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/rse.shef.ac.uk\/\">Research Software Engineering<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.software.ac.uk\/\">Software Sustainability Institute<\/a>.
