{"id":162,"date":"2008-09-30T15:47:54","date_gmt":"2008-09-30T14:47:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.walkingrandomly.com\/?p=162"},"modified":"2008-10-02T13:25:07","modified_gmt":"2008-10-02T12:25:07","slug":"updated-tangram-games-on-wolfram-demonstrations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingrandomly.com\/?p=162","title":{"rendered":"Updated Tangram Games on Wolfram Demonstrations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the great things about the <a href=\"http:\/\/demonstrations.wolfram.com\/\">Wolfram Demonstrations Project<\/a> is the fact that source code is included.  This means that it is straightforward to take someone else&#8217;s code, learn how it works and then maybe tweak it to suit yourself.  Back in February I did exactly that and used  the code in <span class=\"relatedLink\">Enrique Zeleny<\/span>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/demonstrations.wolfram.com\/Tangram\/\">Tangram puzzle<\/a> as the basis for my own Valentine&#8217;s day version &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/demonstrations.wolfram.com\/BrokenHeartTangram\/\">The Broken Heart Tangram<\/a> puzzle.<\/p>\n<p>Things move on though and another demonstrations author, Karl Scherer has produced his own versions of both the <a href=\"http:\/\/demonstrations.wolfram.com\/BrokenHeartTangramVariation\/\">Broken Heart<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/demonstrations.wolfram.com\/TangramVariation\/\">Traditional tangram<\/a> puzzles.  Karl&#8217;s versions are faster, sleeker and generally more fun to use.
